I work extremely hard for your results: to me, my students are not just numbers on a spreadsheet as I am not part of a franchise or a language school. Thus, I get very involved in my students’ learning goals and devote lots of time to their progress.
Not only is Spanish my native language, but I have a very good standard of general education. I cannot stress highly enough the importance of learning Spanish from a well-educated native speaker of the language from any Spanish-speaking country. Almost every time that I have taken on a GCSE or A-level student, I have had to correct my student’s school-teacher’s corrections, because, often, their teacher is a native speaker of English with a degree in FML (Foreign Modern Languages). However well-qualified they may be, they may not achieve total proficiency or have experience of the culture. Let me put it this way: would you have your children learn English from me?
Furthermore, I wrote a dissertation on ‘second language acquisition’ to get my degree. Also, I have the teaching of thousands of lessons to hundreds of students of all ages under my belt so you can say I know my stuff inside out.
I am easy-going, encouraging and will do my utmost to make you feel at ease when learning Spanish as I fully understand that learners emulate and absorb language better when they feel relaxed and motivated.
What to expect?
First, as a prospective student, you will be assessed (for free) over the phone for approximately 15-20 minutes to establish your current level of proficiency in Spanish. This will give us both an idea of where we stand in terms of your strengths and weaknesses.
You will be introduced to my teaching resources. I will provide you with the material necessary for class and self-study through Google Drive and email.
